Performances

If you would like to book the choir for your event, please contact the choir’s secretary or another relevant member of committee. Please note that we are often unable to learn specialist repertoire for a single event, and require that you choose from the current choir’s repertoire setlist. 

2024-2025

  • Freshers Fair
  • Remembrance Recording  – The Choir recorded a moving Remembrance tribute of Abide With Me. 
  • Festival of Arts (Showdance Charity Showcase) – The Choir’s first official performance of the year!
  • SU Winter Market Carolling 
  • Art’s Centre Christmas Market Carolling
  • Late Night Shopping Carolling – Cancelled due to Storm Darragh
  • Mads and Aberystwyth University Windband Christmas Concert – Joining together with the University Windband, the choir put on a festive concert of Christmas Classics. With a mixture of Madrigals, Carols and even Nursery rhymes, everyone loved it!
  • Refresher’s Fair
  • KPop Rag Event
  • 75th Anniversary Reunion Weekend – The Choir were excited to welcome back our alumni for a weekend of singing workshops and a black tie evening dinner at the Marine Hotel.
  • Madrigal Coffee Morning – The Choir held its RAG coffee morning, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
  • Holy Trinity Church Evensong – The Choir led the worship of Choral Evensong at Holy Trinity Church, Aberystywth.
  • Brecon Cathedral Evensong – The Choir travelled to Brecon Cathedral to celebrate their 75th anniversary by leading Choral Evensong.
  • 75th Anniversary Concert – The Choir celebrated our 75th anniversary by taking the audience on a musical journey through our Choir’s history.
  • North Wales Tour – The Choir travelled to North Wales, taking part in a lunchtime recital (Portmeirion), an evening concert (St Mary and All Saints’ Church, Conwy), a Choral Evensong (Holy Trinity Church, Llandudno), and an spontaneous sing-song at the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)!

2020-2021

1. International Student Welcome Ceremony Performance | Sunday, September 22nd 

  1. The Aberystwyth University Students’ Union Arts Festival performance at the SU Main Room
  2. The annual Gregynog Hall Residential Course over a weekend
  1. Mads Christmas Concert
  2. Mads join the Tenovos Choir for their annual Christmas Concert
  3. Mads join the Aberystwyth University Concert Band for their Christmas Concert
  4. Christmas Caroling
  1. The ex-Mads put on their annual reunion event and invite the current choir to a weekend full of choral workshops and performances
  1. Mads Springtime floorshows/concerts with instrumental interludes [CANCELLED]
  1. Performances at Aberystwyth University’s graduation ceremonies (ten in total) with a special and traditional performance of Laudate Nomen Domini at the Vice Chancellor’s luncheon [POSTPONED]

We may also occasionally make appearances at Aberystwyth University’s One World Week and Student and Staff Awards. Additionally, you may find us caroling at Gregynog Hall for their Christmas carvery.
